Potty Training update
I am so happy to report it has gone so well!! We had one accident, Matt caught Garrett in the act, so we got him right to the potty. I do wish he would tell me a little bit more that he has to go, instead of me asking him, but I'm so happy. We've gone out shopping every day and he hasn't worn a diaper or pull-up except for Tuesday for a couple hours! He sleeps in a diaper, but that's to be expected.

Bible Study
Do you believe in "signs"? I do. I do believe things happen for a reason, sometimes I may not know what that reason is, but I do believe there's a reason. Why did I lose my job and why am I having so much trouble finding another one?? Maybe it was to spend a lot more time with Garrett? Maybe it was to have a better pregnancy the second time around? I don't know.
A friend invited me to come to her bible study with her and I wasn't sure. We aren't huge church goers, I'm Catholic, it is a Baptist church, I've never, ever done a bible study. My Dr's appts were on Tuesdays. And on and on. But, then they changed my Dr's appts, now I go on Wednesdays, so I'm free. It's free daycare, can't really argue with that one! Amy & I aren't terribly close, so she doesn't know all the stuff going on in my life, but she signed me up for the class she was taking. It's called "Downpour" and I think it is so fitting. It's kind of about how things "downpour" on you and how God helps build you back up. Seems about right, not sure how much more of a "downpour" i can handle!! Between losing my job, losing unemployment, financial issues, etc, etc. It seems like this is something I could really use right now.
So, yes, I believe in signs. Let's hope this works out for me :)

Potty Training 301
Ok, here we go again! We've been telling Garrett that when he turns 3, no more diapers. We've been telling him this a couple times a day for a couple weeks now, with a little countdown, not that I think he understands what 2 weeks, or 1 week is, but I am hoping the more we talk it up the better our chances will be.
Matt had to work this morning and he told G that if he peed in the potty he could have a prize, if he poo pood he could have 2 prizes. we'll keep a tally and see how it goes....
so far today, he's asked to go twice, no success either time, he then asked for big boy pants, and while playing he peed a little, i knew he did because his face changed, but he wouldn't go to the potty. He's watching tv right now, drinking juice with the potty right next to him. I don't want to force him, because he has a week left, but it's time!!!
It's going so well this time! We had no accidents yesterday, and last night while we were playing, he even stopped and said he needed to pee pee! I'm thrilled.

33 weeks
Today was my 33 week checkup. Everything went just fine, she said I'm having a boring, uneventful pregnancy, but that's what she likes :) I was a little high on the weight gain, but my hands are really swollen, so we agreed it was just the weather, it's in the mid 70's and humid today! She said I'm measuring right at 33 weeks. We talked a little bit more about the due date, she clarified some stuff for me. She said she is still shooting for 38 weeks, but she won't induce me if I'm not dilated at all, even a 1 is ok. But, if I'm at 0, it increases the drugs she has to give me, the chances of a c-section, vacuum, or forceps, she said it's typically a longer labor time, just not worth it. I told her she can't have been telling me all along I'd deliver at 38 weeks and then at 38 weeks change her mind, lol!! She said she honestly feels I'll be dilated to a 1 by 37 weeks, so she isn't too worried, I said good, because you'll have a crazed mom in your office, lol!!! G went with me and did great. He really likes going to the ob for some reason! Maybe because no one gets "boo boo's" and the Dr is really nice. He loves when the nurses weigh him and "check" his blood pressure. They all say he is so cute and love to talk to him, so I think that's why he likes it. But, don't call him sweetie, that's what Grandma calls him and he'll tell you that!
I go back in 2 weeks, then start going weekly after that, yay!!

Garrett's Boo Boo
On Wednesday, Garrett reached into a drawer and somehow stabbed his right middle finger on a pair of scissors. Poor baby screamed so loud! I immediately applied pressure, but it took me 45 minutes to get him to allow me to put a bandage on it, I was able to get gauze and tape on it and bribed him to take some Motrin, but after 2 hours the bandage was soaked, and when I changed it, it was still bleeding. I called his Dr and they said to bring him in, he may need a stitch or 2!! The poor kid screamed and hollered, kicked his feet, it was just awful when the Dr tried to examine it. I had to cut the old bandage off, and me & a nurse had to hold him so the Dr could examine it. The Dr was so gentle and sweet. Thankfully, no stitches needed. She said he had just taken a chunk out and I should leave the bandage on for 24 to 48 hours. She put a much thicker bandage on and he finally calmed down. He was very careful with that finger, but last night he needed a bath badly, so we put this finger glove thing on it and he took a bath, it came off right after the bath. we convinced him that a regular band aid would do the trick.
This morning when I asked how his finger was, he said, it still hurt and then looked at his left hand, and said where did the boo boo go! Lol!!! It's on his right hand. I'm guessing it doesn't hurt anymore!!

31 weeks
Today was my 31 week checkup. The Dr says everything is fine, the baby is measuring right at 31 weeks. Heartbeat is very strong. I have another, or the same, bladder infection. She gave me some new antibiotics, said it could be from the fall, but to be safe she's going to send it off for a culture, if it comes back positive, I'll need antibiotics until the baby is born. She said some women with some pregnancies get them a lot, some never get them. There's nothing I can do, it has more to with with how & where the baby is sitting then anything. She also gave me a referral to a chiropractor to see if they can do anything for my tail bone. I go back in 2 weeks :) oh, and weight gain, 2 pounds!! Right on track, i am stunned, I've been eating a TON!
Oh, she also said I've officially entered the miserable phase, so I'm allowed to complain all I want, lol. I told her, honestly, if it wasn't for my groin and butt hurting so bad, I'd be fine.
Attic Fiasco
On Sunday, Matt & I were putting the Christmas decorations up and getting the baby stuff down. Matt went up first and handed down the lighter, more awkward stuff, then I went up, it's easier for me to be up in the attic because I can slide heavy stuff down the stairs and he can push the heavy stuff up and we don't have to worry about anything falling on my head. There is one little spot in the corner where there is no plywood. Now, any of you that know me well, know I am scared of heights, so being in the attic looking down the stairs is always a challenge! Well, Matt was pushing the last box up to me, it was a little wide for the opening, it got stuck. He pushed, I pulled, it came lose, and I fell over, right into the only spot with no plywood. My left foot went down through the attic floor or garage ceiling, whichever way you want to think of it. I caught myself with my right leg and my arms, on the way through, I nailed my ass on a beam. Garrett started screaming bloody murder, Matt swore, I have no idea what i did, probably peed on myself a little, lol!! I was not worried about falling through at that point, I had myself braced pretty good. Matt came up and helped me up, I was just shaking from head to toe, for Garrett's sake I managed not to start crying. We immediately put Garrett to bed and I took the time to calm down and see how I was. Baby was moving, no contractions, no fluid loss, but god DAMN did my butt hurt BAD! And my groin muscles. I opted not to go to the ER. If the baby had not been dancing around in my belly I would have gone, but I know they can't do x-rays, and having broken my tailbone before I also know they can't do anything for it and I was under the impression all I could take was Tylenol. Somehow I got through the night, but I was hurting bad. I woke up Monday and called my OB, they said it was an injury for my PCP, but I could take Vicodin, so I called them, they said every single Dr in their office was fully booked and they couldn't get me in until Tuesday. They suggested a clinic or an ER. Matt came home and I attempted to drive myself to a clinic that used to be my customer, I had called and she said they don't take appts and it would be about an hour wait, but she'd try and move me up in line since I know the Dr's and office staff so well. I forgot to mention I was pregnant! I could not drive myself, it was pure agony, I was crying it hurt so bad, so I went back home and Matt got G and we went to the Physicians Centre right here in our neighborhood. They literally wouldn't even let me walk through the doors, said they do not have an OB on staff and could not exam me, they said the clinic i was going to go too was the same story, I had to go to the Med (the hospital I'll deliver at). I called my OB back to get some direction, she said NOT to go to the Med, way too many germs I could be exposed too. She told me to go home and she'd call me in a script for Vicodin, if I got any worse or the baby stopped moving, I was to go to the ER, but wait in the car and make Matt wait inside for them to call my name! The Vicodin did the trick, and I had my regular Ob appt today.

Good Morning
Yesterday morning I had the sweetest wake up! For the past few months Garrett gets out of bed and comes to our room about 7 or 7:30. Matt's usually at work, so he climbs into bed with me and we talk and watch a little tv, while I wake up. I always hear him come in.
Yesterday, I was sound asleep and I felt these soft, little hands on my cheek and then the sweetest kiss ever. He said "good morning, momma". It was just so sweet. Then he rubbed my cheek & whispered, "the sun is up, it's time to play".
What a nice way to wake up to a New Year!!
